Lowering financial barriers to accessing the internet
One of CIRA’s three pillars is Policy Engagement, to support policies that promote an open and trusted internet in Canada.
Canadians’ ability to make any use of the internet at all hinges on our ability to have access to the internet. Yet, we pay some of the highest rates in the world for internet access, particularly with regard to wireless access.
Do you think CIRA has a responsibility to advocate for legislative or regulatory changes that will increase citizens’ access to the internet, by lowering the cost of access? If so, what changes would you support?
